The original MGS was such a unique game when it came out. A real cinematic experience that just would never have been fully possible on the previous gen. I played the demo for this so many times before finally getting the game.

MGS3 is the best game of a fantastic series and another technical marvel that I always forget was from the PS2 era. Another astonishing story and yet again subverting expectations from previous releases.

Mass Effect 2 was just story telling on a whole other level. Such an amazingly intricate universe where small areas like the Quarian/Geth aspect could be a whole game/book/film series just by itself. And the final mission is an epic gaming moment.

The final one was the hardest here. Both RDR and TLOU had amazingly well written stories which really made you root for the main protagonist in such different ways but the Western setting and the whole landscape of RDR felt so much more unique.

Hard to choose between Ocarina of Time and Elden Ring. Thanks to this site’s somewhat slim demographics though, I expect the final to be between different flavours of the same dark fantasy so I had to throw Nintendo a vote or two.
