What are the best PS Plus games? PS Plus, also known as PlayStation Plus, is Sony's flagship subscription service for PS5 and PS4, providing online multiplayer functionality, cloud saves, and PS Store discounts. PS Plus also includes access to hundreds of games included at no extra cost, spanning three distinct subscription tiers: PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, and PS Plus Premium. You can learn more about all three options and their various benefits with our PS Plus Memberships: All Three Tiers Explained guide – make sure to get a discount on your PS Plus membership once you've made your choice.

Depending on which PS Plus membership tier you're subscribed to, you'll be able to download and play an overwhelming number of games. Therefore, you may be wondering what the best PS Plus games are. That's why we've created this list, which sorts and curates the best PS Plus games currently available, based on your user ratings. This page will dynamically update, depending upon the availability of games within the PS Plus tiers, and your opinions.

For this page, we're combining all three tiers of PS Plus, including the PS Plus Collection (which is exclusive to PS5 users). That means there are some caveats to keep in mind: PS3 games, for example, are only available for PS Plus Premium members via cloud streaming. Some games are also only part of PS Plus in specific regions, and in instances where that applies, they'll be designated a regional flag next to their subscription tier.

Remember, if you're looking for a full list of All PS Plus Games, then you'll find that through the link. Also, if you feel your favourite is missing from this page, then remember that you can rate any game using the search box below. Your ratings will influence the rankings below, but of course a game will need to be available in an existing PS Plus subscription tier in order to be eligible.

Please note that a game will also need at least 50 ratings before it will appear on this list, so if one of your favourites is missing for whatever reason, that will be why. It's just to keep things consistent and fair across the board.

With all of that said, here's our list of best PS Plus games — as selected by you.

100. Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3)

Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3)
Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3)
Publisher: Capcom / Developer: Capcom
Release Date: 3rd Apr 2012 (USA) / 3rd Apr 2012 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Capcom's Devil May Cry series pioneered what's now known as the character action genre. It's a specific style of action game, with the player character able to pull off a high volume of attacks, leading to complex, expressive combat. While there are many examples of this style of game available now, sometimes you can't beat the classics. The original DMC trilogy is here in this HD compilation, and while the second of the three is less highly regarded, it's still an absolute banger of a trio. Devil May Cry 3 alone makes this Capcom collection worth playing.

99. Limbo (PS4)

Limbo (PS4)
Limbo (PS4)
Publisher: Playdead / Developer: Playdead
Release Date: 24th Feb 2015 (USA) / 25th Feb 2015 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Before Inside, developer Playdead made Limbo. This game arrived just as the indie boom was really starting to take off, and with its unique presentation and minimalist storytelling, it was a big success. You play as a young boy in this 2D puzzle platformer, tasking you with moving from screen to screen by overcoming environmental obstacles. It's all very eerie, with its black-and-white visuals and haunting music. Inside is generally considered the better game overall, but it wouldn't exist without Limbo.

98. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5)

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5)
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5)
Publisher: Capcom / Developer: Capcom
Release Date: 12th Nov 2020 (USA) / 19th Nov 2020 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

We were tempted to just quote the entirety of Vergil's 'Bury the Light' theme here, but that would deny us an opportunity to rave about Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition on PS5. Simply put, this is an exceptional action game. It's Capcom at its absolute best, having crafted one of the greatest combat systems to ever grace the genre. In Special Edition, Vergil is the star of the show; unbelievably fun to play as and immaculately designed. This PS5 re-release also allows for instantaneous load times, a slew of graphics options, and the incredible Legendary Dark Knight mode.

97. Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PS4)

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PS4)
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PS4)
Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Ubisoft
Release Date: 5th Oct 2018 (USA) / 5th Oct 2018 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is much more of an open world RPG than it is a traditional Assassin's Creed title. The second instalment in the series' "open world trilogy", this ancient Greek adventure may overlook a lot of the game design that defined its predecessors, but there's no denying that its interlocking RPG systems make for a deep and engaging experience. Levelling up, loot, skill trees, and randomised elements like bounty-hunting mercenaries all play a part across a truly gigantic map. The story's not bad either, as protagonist Alexios or Kassandra embarks on a branching journey to learn the truth about his or her legendary bloodline.

96. Hotline Miami (PS3)

Hotline Miami (PS3)
Hotline Miami (PS3)
Publisher: Devolver Digital / Developer: Dennaton Games
Release Date: 25th Jun 2013 (USA) / 26th Jun 2013 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Hotline Miami is a modern classic. This arcade-like action game is one of the first indie titles to really penetrate into the mainstream, and that's largely down to its incredibly addictive gameplay. From a bird's eye view, you infiltrate enemy strongholds and violently eliminate them using a variety of melee weapons and guns. The speed at which the action runs, not to mention the incredible soundtrack and trippy visual flair, makes the entire game pulse with energy, and using a variety of game-changing masks, there's always room for one more go.

95. The Last Guardian (PS4)

The Last Guardian (PS4)
The Last Guardian (PS4)
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment / Developer: Team Ico
Release Date: 6th Dec 2016 (USA) / 9th Dec 2016 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

From the team behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, you shouldn't overlook The Last Guardian. This third game in the loosely connected trilogy has just as much heart and impact as the others — not to mention one of the most technically impressive AI companions yet seen. Playing as a small boy, you and a large, mysterious creature called Trico must escape from a crumbling, enigmatic place full of dangers. The bond you'll form with Trico — who gradually learns to trust and listen to you more as the game goes on — is unlike any other in video games, leading to an incredibly emotional and touching adventure.

94. Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)

Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Publisher: Warner Bros / Developer: Rocksteady Studios
Release Date: 23rd Jun 2015 (USA) / 23rd Jun 2015 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Divisive? Well, it was, wasn’t it? Surprisingly so, in fact, given the sheer overwhelming success of predecessors Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Rocksteady’s long anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight massively increased the scale of its sandbox, and issued you with a tank-like vehicle to help you navigate it. This was cleverly integrated into the series’ tried-and-trusted environmental puzzles, but some argued its car combat encounters were tedious and overused. Regardless of any criticism, when this threequel was on song it still exhibited the very best of the Arkham series, with crunching combat and a drizzly open world to explore.

93. Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)

Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)
Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Sumo Digital
Release Date: 12th Nov 2020 (USA) / 19th Nov 2020 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

With creator Media Molecule focusing its attention on PS4’s boundless sandbox Dreams, LittleBigPlanet’s whimsical weaved hero deserved his Super Mario 3D World moment. Sackboy: A Big Adventure doesn’t pull up any trees like its predecessors, but is instead a robust co-operative platformer with some memorable musical moments. With a cutesy DIY aesthetic and some surprisingly tight action, it excels in an area that Sony has often been accused of overlooking: fun for the whole family.

92. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate (PS5)

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate (PS5)
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate (PS5)
Publisher: Warner Bros / Developer: NetherRealm Studios
Release Date: 17th Nov 2020 (USA) / 17th Nov 2020 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

There’s a snobbery among enthusiasts that suggests Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, without tightly animated sprites and mind-boggling button combos, is a lesser fighting title. Be that as it may, few brawlers have the sheer scope and scale of what’s on display here. With an ever-rotating ladder of inventive towers to tackle, a sprawling single player campaign, and an RPG-inspired loot system that lets you tailor all of the title’s characters to your tastes, NetherRealm Studios may not have produced an audience-attracting e-sport here, but it has delivered a damn good time.

91. Death's Door (PS5)

Death's Door (PS5)
Death's Door (PS5)
Publisher: Devolver Digital / Developer: Acid Nerve
Release Date: 23rd Nov 2021 (USA) / 23rd Nov 2021 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Essential (Until 4th Sep 2023)

Death's Door isn't doing anything particularly original, but everything presented here is just so well crafted. The game is an isometric action adventure, starring you as a reaper crow who must venture out and calm the lost souls that haunt the land. The world created here is a fascinating one, designed in an almost Dark Souls-like way; it intertwines with itself and pockmarks each area with baddies to fend off. The combat is straightforward but satisfying, and the presentation is really strong throughout. It might not break the mould, but this unassuming game puts its best talon forward.

90. Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4)

Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4)
Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4)
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment / Developer: SCE Japan Studio
Release Date: 2nd Feb 2016 (USA) / 2nd Feb 2016 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Sony ported over the beautiful PS Vita classic Gravity Rush and gave it an even more stunning facelift for PS4. This is the original game, complete with all its DLC, allowing you to fly about the land and turn the world upside down without the need for Sony's second handheld. It's a fantastic adventure more than worth experiencing, and then you can play the just as good sequel.

89. WipEout Omega Collection (PS4)

WipEout Omega Collection (PS4)
WipEout Omega Collection (PS4)
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment / Developer: SCE XDev Studio Europe
Release Date: 6th Jun 2017 (USA) / 7th Jun 2017 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

The granddaddy of anti-gravity racing makes a triumphant return to PlayStation with a gorgeous remaster that brings together content from WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048. The fast and fluid racer plays beautifully, looks gorgeous, and runs like a shiny, metal dream. The recently added VR support is incredibly well implemented too, making this an even better package for PSVR owners. While we’d have preferred an all new entry in the franchise, this serves as a great reminder of why WipEout is so beloved by fans.

88. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)

Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks / Developer: MachineGames
Release Date: 20th May 2014 (USA) / 20th May 2014 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Wolfenstein is a legendary franchise, but in this contemporary entry, developer MachineGames dragged it into the 21st century. Visceral combat and a sprawling single player campaign, packed with memorable locations, make The New Order one of the better FPS games on the PS4.

87. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (PS4)

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (PS4)
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (PS4)
Publisher: Warner Bros / Developer: Monolith Productions
Release Date: 30th Sep 2014 (USA) / 3rd Oct 2014 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

It tends to be glossed over these days, but Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was an undeniably innovative game when it launched in 2014. Its so-called 'Nemesis' system allowed for some impressively dynamic storytelling, as ugly orcs formed all kinds of twisted relationships with brooding main character Talion. Somewhat basic, but still fun contextual combat and loads of unlockable upgrades make Mordor an engaging action RPG, and it still stands as a fine Lord of the Rings spinoff.

86. PREY (PS4)

PREY (PS4)
PREY (PS4)
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks / Developer: Arkane Austin
Release Date: 5th May 2017 (USA) / 5th May 2017 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

PREY made a valiant attempt to revitalise the franchise, and while it wasn't a big sales success, it remains an engrossing sci-fi thriller. You wake up aboard a mysterious space station, where you're the test subject for the betterment of humanity. Obviously, things go very wrong, and the station is overrun by hostile aliens. Featuring unique enemies, a non-linear location full of details, and imaginative new weapons, it's an atmospheric, tense first-person adventure that'll get under your skin.

85. Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)

Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
Publisher: Square Enix / Developer: Square Enix
Release Date: 29th Jan 2019 (USA) / 29th Jan 2019 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Love it or loathe it, the Kingdom Hearts series isn't going anywhere. Arguably at its peak with the third entry, Kingdom Hearts 3 is a love letter to both the bonkers story that came before it and the outstanding Disney worlds it encompasses. From Frozen to Toy Story, its fun and engaging combat system weaves its way through awe-inspiring environments, meeting famous Disney faces along the way. If you're not a fan, though, just Let It Go.

84. Days Gone (PS4)

Days Gone (PS4)
Days Gone (PS4)
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Bend Studio
Release Date: 26th Apr 2019 (USA) / 26th Apr 2019 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

After several years working on handhelds like PS Vita and PSP, Bend Studio marked its return to home consoles with its ambitious open world adventure Days Gone. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game’s biker motif made it stand out from the crowd, as your two-wheels became your sanctuary in an extremely hostile setting. A huge focus on story and some genuinely impressive tech allowed the developer to flex its muscle, and the release would go on to become a cult favourite among PS4 fans.

83. Mortal Kombat 11 (PS4)

Mortal Kombat 11 (PS4)

Available On: PS+ Extra

Mortal Kombat 11’s spectacular presentation and crunching combat make it a headline entry in the long-running franchise. With an absolute mountain of single player content to get through, as well as an active competitive scene, this is one of the best fighters you can find on PS4.

Until Dawn (PS4)
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment / Developer: Supermassive Games
Release Date: 25th Aug 2015 (USA) / 28th Aug 2015 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Supermassive Games made a real name for itself with Until Dawn. This narrative adventure game effectively lets you partake in a schlocky teen horror movie, where your choices will have potentially grisly effects on the ensemble cast. With atmosphere to spare, lovably corny performances, and a highly replayable adventure full of outcomes to discover, it's no wonder this game is such a cult hit.

81. South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PS4)

South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PS4)
South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PS4)
Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Ubisoft San Francisco
Release Date: 17th Oct 2017 (USA) / 17th Oct 2017 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

What do you get if you cross Ubisoft, superheroes, and a bunch of foul-mouthed friends made of felt? The answer is South Park: The Fractured But Whole, of course. This sequel to the also brilliant South Park: The Stick of Truth swaps out fantasy for modern vigilante justice, as your custom character joins forces with Cartman's crew to fight evil. Featuring strategic turn-based combat, the titular town to explore, and all the absurd humour you'd expect, this is a highly entertaining game for fans and newcomers.

80. DOOM Eternal (PS5)

DOOM Eternal (PS5)
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks / Developer: id Software
Release Date: 29th Jun 2021 (USA) / 29th Jun 2021 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

If you like your first-person shooters fast, demanding, and bloody, DOOM Eternal is the peak. A fantastic gameplay loop means you're constantly on the move and playing aggressively, earning more ammo and health by getting right up in those demonic faces and literally ripping them a new one. On PS5, it's somehow even better, with three visual modes — including one with ray tracing — and DualSense support. A brilliant FPS that really sings on Sony's current hardware.

79. Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4)

Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4)
Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4)
Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Release Date: 27th Oct 2017 (USA) / 27th Oct 2017 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

A stunning recreation of ancient Egypt is the backdrop for Assassin's Creed Origins — a game that redefined Ubisoft's series. Going full open world and throwing a bunch of RPG systems into the mix, Origins breathed new life into Assassin's Creed after Unity and Syndicate struggled to leave a lasting impression. Origins follows the surprisingly emotional story of Bayek, a determined mystic and warrior, who, with the help of his estranged wife Aya, establishes the Hidden Ones — the precursor organisation that would one day become the Assassin Brotherhood.

78. Dishonored: Definitive Edition (PS4)

Dishonored: Definitive Edition (PS4)
Dishonored: Definitive Edition (PS4)
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks / Developer: Arkane Studios
Release Date: 25th Aug 2015 (USA) / 28th Aug 2015 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Arkane's debut game, Dishonored, remains one of its best, and this Definitive Edition lets you play an optimal version. Casting you as a supernatural assassin in a corrupt world, you get to explore a series of vast, open stages that really let you approach them in your own way. A combination of excellent mission design, a flexible suite of powers and weapons, and an intriguing story make for a true modern classic. The Definitive Edition finishes it all off with improved visuals and all the game's DLC, making for a great package.

77. Yakuza 5 Remastered (PS4)

Yakuza 5 Remastered (PS4)
Yakuza 5 Remastered (PS4)
Publisher: SEGA / Developer: Yakuza Studio
Release Date: 11th Feb 2020 (USA) / 11th Feb 2020 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Premium

Purely in terms of available content, Yakuza 5 is the biggest game in the series — it's an absolute colossus. Much like its predecessor, Yakuza 4, it features multiple playable characters. Kazuma Kiryu is once again in the spotlight, and he's joined by returning protagonists Akiyama and Saejima. New character and disgraced baseball player Tatsuo Shinada also enters the fray, and all four leads have their own unique fighting styles, optional activities, and connections to the overarching story. A true beast of a game that'll keep you busy for weeks, if not months.

76. Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)

Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)
Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)
Publisher: 505 Games / Developer: Remedy
Release Date: 2nd Feb 2021 (USA) / 2nd Feb 2021 (UK/EU)
Available On: PS+ Extra

Control pushed the limits of the PS4, delivering an intense third-person romp — but a technically flawed one. This return trip to the unorthodox Old House feels much more at home on the PS5, however, and while there are some strange difficulty spikes, Remedy’s unique brand of shooting shines throughout much of this engrossing outing. The oppressive setting, unnerving enemies, and wonderfully eerie atmosphere really come to life on Sony's current-gen machine, offering much improved visuals and performance.
