Anybody here have experience traveling overseas. I'm about to leave the states for the very first time to go to Sweden and am incredibly nervous as this is way out of my comfort zone

@PegasusActual93 If it eases your mind, I think Sweden is generally considered very safe and most people speak at least decent English there! They're also not the overwhelmingly social type in general.
I'm sure you'll be fine
@Voltan
Sweden itself I am not too fussed about. My wife is Swedish and I am meeting her family in Stockholm so I don't feel in danger there, its getting there that I am struggling to stomach

@PegasusActual93 You picked the right country to go then. I've been to Sweden a few times, and people are polite, they won't intrude. I think you won't be overwhelmed.
And Sweden is a good pick. The Scandanavian countries are the most beautiful places Europe has to offer. And Sweden's cities are very nice.
@RogerRoger Thanks! I had to play around with a few settings on the PS5 to get it all working (and even them Atmos isn't yet supported yet for games. The next firmware update can't come soon enough). Hearing Cal's lightsaber in full force made me grin from ear to ear!
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@PegasusActual93 Airports can be a bit overwhelming but so long as you leave yourself plenty of time to get everything sorted and know where your passport is at all times then you’ll be fine.
@JohnnyShoulder I've also got a Sonos Beam (without rears or a sub; don't wanna upset my neighbours) and even without an Atmos track, the tricks it can pull are remarkable. First day I got it, I booted up Battlefront II on PS4 and it somehow managed to place the audio for orders relayed through my character's helmet right beside my ear. Scared the crap outta me!
Of course, it's nothing compared to my partner's set-up. He's got an Arc, with rears and a full sub. The layers of audio detail and object placement that equipment can generate defy belief. I wish I could do all my gaming there! Once you've completed your similar set, you'll be in sound heaven!

@PegasusActual93 A fact that helped me a lot when I first started travelling:
"If you survived the car trip to the airport, you survived the most dangerous part of your travel".
"Getting my s--t stolen" Buy yourself a handbag (aka clutch aka purse), put important things in it.
Put it on and then put your backpack on, that way it can't be snatched from you.

In every airport I've been to, there are information booths (wtf is the plural of booth), if you ever have a question ask them

@lolwhatno Booths is indeed the plural of booth. English is the most incredibly stupid language for so many reasons though. Read’s past tense being read but read differently. Horror show.

@nessisonett My rating of best languages i know is arabic>english>french. French has it way worse than english IMO, and then there is arabic the language of poetry (the power/emotions that can be portrayed through words is not something I find in french and not something that can be translated)
