Venom Is the Focus of Fresh Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Look

I love everything Bryan is saying but the big part of Venom and why he's scary and why he was such a personal rogue to Peter was his host Eddie Brock. When Bryan announced that it's not Eddie who's Venom in this, I was actually quite disappointed.

If it's the obvious Harry choice, a choice that was done in Ultimate cartoon that nobody liked, then that would be extremely lame and automatically make him not scary or intimidating, because it would be the "best friend controlled by Alien" trope instead of 2 forces of nature that combine in their shared hatred and want to destory Peter Parker's life.

Just my 2 cents.

@Americansamurai1 I’m thinking this too. I’m thinking he becomes so obsessed with the hunt and when he gets bested by Spidey he becomes desperate enough to do anything to get stronger.

@Itachi2099 So far it seems it's going to be... both of those tropes? Because in the reveal trailer Kraven sounds like he is teaming up with Venom(Unless the dialogue was switched around like other trailers do).

I really hope we can play as venom in spider-man 2, and there's venom stand alone title (like miles morale) in the future

Man I miss prototype, I hope activision make the 3rd game with the original protagonist (alex mercer). Or at least remaster the 1st game with 4K and 60 fps.

I always thought that Prototype and Infamous games were in some cases slept on and both deserve fitting sequels or remasters. They are similar games that have the same misunderstood anti-hero trope. I always preferred Infamous but Prototype is great too.

I'm still disappointed that it's not Eddie, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it once I play it.

@KaijuKaiser I think this may end up happening. In Spectacular Spider-Man Kraven gets so obsessed with defeating Spider-Man that he forces a doctor to give him powers. Something similar could happen here.

I’d be more excited if this was like Amazing Spider-Man and you played as Venom too. That’d be so much cooler than playing as Miles Morales too.

After the post-credits scene in the first game, I can't see how it would be anyone but Harry, which I'm fine with. Eddie hasn't been a villain in a long time, and the Venom movies have definitely diluted his character.

@MikeOrator Prototype was such a fun brutal game. I was going to choose Infamous over it when I was young but I didn't have a PS3 at the time.

There’s a part of me hoping they throw Carnage into the story towards the end game as a surprise final villain. And it requires Venom to work with Miles and Peter to defeat him.

@MikeOrator I played and finished prototype 1 on xbox 360, I think alex mercer is full on villain. I means he's a biological weapon afterall, at least that's how I played it, kidnapping innocent civilian to the top of the building before eating them lol.

I have prototype 2 on my ps5 but only played the opening scenes, the protagonist is way less fun than alex mercer because his family is killed by the virus, so it's kind of hypocrisy if he (I) killed innocent people compared to alex mercer.

I just hope we can get some across the spiderverse skins in the game. I'd love to play a game in that animation style, but some character skins - similar to the comic book suit in the first game - would be the next best thing. Once i unlocked that i didnt use anything else

Activision got a great reason to reset mercer power (like samus in metroid games), mercer get destroyed in the end of first game and become sort of single cell organism/black slime, it will be cool if in the second game we can evolve mercer to become more powerful like in the first game.

Why people continue to buy these bland games that are basically total conversion mods for Batman Arkham games is beyond me.

So basically people enjoy an over decade old gameplay loop that's been overused to death, a generic superhero story and characters, blatantly plagiarised (and worse implemented) combat mechanics?
